Fariba Anderson , VP Lottery IT, OLG

Prior to Ontario Lottery Gaming Corporation, Fariba held a verity of CIO, SVP, VP, Executive Director and Director roles with Allstream, Bell, Compuware, Rogers, Imperial Oil, and most recently, as the President of ACI Consulting Group. Fariba's work experience spans Canada, US and Europe. In addition, Fariba has been recognized as one of Canada’s top 100 Women Entrepreneurs and recently was a member of Ontario Lottery Gaming Corporation IT Advisory Subcommittee reporting to CEO and Board of Directors.

 

Fariba is passionate about helping others succeed and is involved in a number of Industry and Community forums and a regular speaker at industry forums such as PMI, ISACA, InfoNex and as well Wired Women Society. Fariba is a volunteer board member of University of Toronto Rotman School of Management Vision Fund Board and Integrative Thinking Board. Fariba serves as a volunteer Director on the board of Youth In Motion, a national charity dedicated to developing and promoting youth leadership; and as an independent Director on the board of ObjectWorld which is a Venture backed Unified Communication Company.

 

Fariba holds a MBA from University of Toronto Rotman School of Management and a Computer Science Degree from York University. Fariba is also a Certified Management Consultant.

Nicole Brouillard, Senior Vice-President, Canadian and Latin America CIO for Chubb Insurance


Nicole joined Chubb Insurance in 1994. In 2006, her role expanded to include two different geographies: Canada and Latin America. IT alignment to the business strategy and relationships at all levels has been on of her main success areas. Leadership, management and mentoring of IT technical staff are some of her professional passions.


A graduate of Computer Science since 1987, Nicole has worked in the technical application of IT, in project management and in the leadership if IT organizations. With 18 years of IT experience within the Financial Industry, 15 in the Insurance Industry, she has gained great insight into the strategic direction of IT Strategy in Insurance Markets and in leading an effective and agile IT organization in a Corporate and global setting. She is the chair / president of the SIM Toronto Chapter (Society of Information Management), on the IT Oversight Board of the Insurance Bureau of Canada as well as on the Advisory Board for the Canadian Breakfast Club. Nicole also volunteers in palliative care community programs.

 

 


 

Sarah Spence, Senior Vice President, High Road Communications

 

As Senior Vice President of High Road’s Telecom and Wireless group, Sarah provides counsel to clients ranging from startup companies to large enterprises. With fifteen years of corporate communications and public relations experience in telecommunications and technology sectors, she has worked with entrepreneurs, executives, journalists, bloggers, influencers and industry analysts in North America and Europe. 

 

She currently leads the TELUS account at High Road (Business and Consumer) as well as the Consumer and Online division of Microsoft Canada. Her expertise includes strategic counsel in integrated marketing campaigns, social media and corporate communications for both consumer and business audiences. 

Prior to joining High Road, Sarah was Head of Communications Programs at Orange SA, one of the world’s largest mobile communications companies, and part of the France Telecom group. At Orange, Sarah was based in the UK and headed a team responsible for all global communications outreach programs and corporate product announcements. 

 

Sarah also spent a number of years working in corporate communications at Bell Canada, Canada’s national leader in communications. 

 

Her software experience also includes time as Director of Communications at E-Cruiter.com (now re-branded Workstream) a NASDAQ-listed company that provides enterprise workforce management solutions and services that help companies manage the entire employee lifecycle and Director of Communications for Necho Systems Inc., now a division of CyberShift, Inc. 

 

Sarah holds an Honours BA in history and political science from the University of Toronto, and a post-graduate certificate in public relations from Humber College.

 

 


 

June Macdonald, Research In Motion (RIM)

 

June Macdonald’s life in high tech started at software subsidiary of Apple Computer, Claris, followed by a stint at Canadian e-commerce startup Chapters Online, where she worked on proving the effectiveness of email marketing. June shared her passion for direct marketing and online technology in her capacity as board member of the Association of Internet Marketing and Sales (AIMS) and manager of the member discussion list. She is no stranger to the ups and downs of the job market. Post dotcom burst she helped smaller organizations take advantage of email and direct marketing online to increase customer loyalty and sales while trying to figure out what direction to take her career next, before settling back into high tech as Marketing Manager at Research In Motion.

 

 


 

Suzie Laboone, CATA WIT Toronto Chapter Chair

 

Suzie Labonne is passionate about women in technology. Currently Chair of the Toronto CATAWIT chapter, she carried the message that technology can be integrated in women’s professional lives many different ways. Her professional journey came to technology via the business and the human resources side. She is currently consulting in management with a focus on change and organizational development. She previously held positions in a management consulting firm as VP Ontario – New England at R3D Consulting Inc. and is a former member of the ING Canada IT Management Committee while simultaneously holding a corporate HR Planning and Practices function. Her volunteer activities took her into mentorship roles with young women at risk, in the education system as parent as well as different charity work. She loves to dedicate her time and attention to her extended family, counting many children and grandchildren and is addicted to outdoors life.

 


 

Pat Gaudet, ABCP

 

Pat Gaudet is a consultant specializing in IT Business Continuity Management (BCM), IT Risk Management and IT Project Management. She is proprietor of Gaudet & Associates, Consultants and is a member of DRI Canada and DRIE. 

 

Prior to establishing her consulting business in 2005, she was Manager, BCM in the IT unit of RBC Financial Group. Responsibilities included directing the creation, maintenance and exercising of business continuity plans (BCPs) and the incident management plan for the unit. In 1997-2000, she successfully managed the IT unit's Y2K transition projects for Contingency Planning and End User Computing. She has specialized experience in internal consulting, management information systems / end user computing and most recently, business continuity and operational risk assessment. Earlier career assignments included program and project management of the development, implementation and maintenance of international banking applications. 

 

Pat Gaudet is a director of the CIPS Golden Horseshoe Board since 2007. She was, from 2004-2008, a member of CIPS National Board and the Executive Committee. Pat was a director of the CIPS Toronto Board from 2000 to 2007, serving as President 2001-2003. Her previous CIPS experience includes co-founding and chairing the Year2000 and the End User Computing Special Interest Groups (SIGs). She co-founded the CIPS Toronto BCM SIG and for a number of years led or participated in and was the Board member responsible for the local 'Women in IT' program aimed at Grade Nine girls. 

 

Pat has been a volunteer with the Canadian Red Cross since 2005 and currently is president of her local Branch Council. Previous volunteer activities include leadership roles in the local Junior Achievement organization, the Association for Systems Management in Montreal and Toronto and the Montreal West Island Jaycees as well as involvement in the Community Advisory Councils for the local high school and the local police service.
