Volunteering
Wired Woman needs wonderful women like you to volunteer. Your contributions are critical to our growth and ongoing success. You bring us energy and new ideas, special skills, abilities, knowledge, contacts, and diversity that we could not receive any other way.
Why volunteer?
Our volunteers have told us that they have gained a great deal from volunteering with Wired Woman. Some of these benefits include:
- Meeting great women and learning more about WW's culture
- The women you meet are present & future colleagues, mentors, employees, and employers
- Networking because who you know is invaluable!
- Participating in the creation of something better than Wired Woman can do without you
- Sharing ideas
- Feeling and participating in the success of a completed project
- Developing in areas such as communication, technical, team and leadership skills
- Giving something back to the community and society
- Volunteering looks good on a resume
- Receiving a reference for a job well done

What Next?
Once you send submit your form, the Volunteer Coordinator will start a conversation with you about your interests and the volunteer opportunities available.
If there is an opportunity of particular interest, the Volunteer Coordinator will connect you with the woman leading that committee or position to discuss the role further. There is no commitment here, so if it isn't a good fit, we can always find you a new opportunity.
What happens if I am selected?
- If selected, you will be sent a welcome email from your Volunteer Coordinator, introducing you to your key Wired Woman contacts.
- Volunteer training will follow and you will become a valued member of Wired Woman's volunteer team.
- You are amongst friends! We encourage you to share your ideas and ask questions, and participate in member events to help you grow in your new role.
What's the Catch?
There is no catch. Of course, we do have the same expectations of our volunteers as we do of Wired Woman members.
Respect Please respect your fellow Wired Woman members by showing up for meetings on time; answering emails promptly; participating in events; and communicating questions or concerns you may have.
Commitment We want our volunteers to have full lives, but not at the expense of each other. Since we are all interconnected and dependent on each other for success, we must each make a personal commitment to be conscientious and follow through on what we promise. If something comes up in your life that makes it impossible to deliver on your commitments, please let your Volunteer Coordinator know so she can make alternate arrangements.
Community Wired Woman is a community that encourages its members to network and share their expertise with each other and this extends to our volunteers. We encourage you to reach out and participate in events, meetings, and activities. Most of all, we want you to have fun.
