Presented by Mia Wedgbury, President, High Road Communications
High Road Communications' ability to keep up with the rapid pace of technology companies has led the company to develop into the largest technology agency in Canada. During her session Mia will highlight:
- How she built Canada's first technology PR agency from the ground up; and
- How businesses in the technology marketplace offer unique opportunities for career growth.

SPEAKER BIOGRAPHIES:
Leona Hobbs, Communications Consultant
Leona Hobbs is a Toronto-based communications consultant with passion for technology. Her most recent consulting experience was doing Partner Marketing for Yahoo! where she worked with the Connected Life group to support Yahoo!'s partnership with Rogers. Before Yahoo!, Leona was a vice president in the marketing communications practice at Fleishman-Hillard Canada. She has worked with a number of companies including Yahoo!, Rogers, Bell Canada, Sony Computer Entertainment (PlayStation), Kyocera Wireless and AGFA.
Leona has spoken about the web and communications at events for the Canadian Institute, the Association of Internet Marketing and Sales, and at the Alberta Communications Forum. She has guest lectured at Seneca College, Loyalist College and Ryerson University.
Mia Wedgbury, President and Co-founder, High Road Communications
As High Road’s President, Mia leads the firm with more than 15 years of high-tech public relations experience. She has directed global brand positioning programs, handled crisis communications, managed international product launches, and developed strategic public relations programs for emerging players and industry leaders.
Mia has worked with companies across the entire tech spectrum — from consumer software to hardware manufacturers to wireless companies. Over the course of her career, she has worked with Microsoft Canada, NEC Technologies, IBM, AT&T, Canon, Agfa and Sierra Wireless, among others.
